Brick Floors
I have never seen this personally myself, but I have heard many
stories of homes with brick floors not only in part of the house, but
brick floors throughout the house! What is the best way to make a
change, if you can't stand the brick floors any longer?
Although I have not encountered brick floors in a home remodeling or
renovation project, I did have to finish what used to be a 1938 garage
once. The floor was very uneven and actually sloped. I imagine that
these are issues that would be similar to what one would face with
brick floors. I ultimately hired a tile contractor to use a self-
leveling compound to even the floor and provide a good surface for tile.
If you have brick floors, you might want to consult an experienced
tile contractor to consider the self-leveling compound possibility.
Another possibility that comes to mind is that you might sand the
brick floor and then paint or seal it. This would be very laborious
and dusty, but possible.
Good luck with your brick floor solution!
