Lumber Liquidators
I have seen the advertisements for lumber liquidators many times on
television and have thought about using the flooring myself for my
home remodeling and renovation projects. I asked a few of my flooring
contractor friends for their opinions on lumber liquidators.
I must preface this discussion by saying that I have never used lumber
liquidators myself, and I encourage you to judge for yourself or do
more of your own research.
One of my friends suggested that it can be inconsistent in the
cutting. In other words, the wood from lumber liquidators might be
cut to slightly different sizes that might leave gaps in your floor
once the wood dries. While this might be a problem that might even
require wood filler or wood putty, it wouldn't stop me from using
lumber liquidators or giving them a try.
Another homeowner friend of mine had a positive experience with lumber
liquidators. They installed the flooring themselves and were very
pleased with the end result.
Perhaps the best advice about lumber liquidators that I can give you
is to ask to see a sample of it yourself, in a real home, that has
been installed for a few years. That way you can judge lumber
liquidators for yourself and see how their product stands up to normal
wear and tear.
